Boultinghouse Funeral Home of Rockport, Indiana and Koehler Funeral Home of Boonville, Indiana celebrates 125 years of continued service to the Spencer and Warrick County, Indiana area.  Their sign and letterhead states “Our Family Serving Your Family Since 1895”.  This is a daily reminder to Evan, his family, and the funeral home staff of the heritage and commitment to the community they serve.  Evan and his family are also celebrating 15 years of ownership of Boultinghouse Funeral Home.  He often mentions how they are simply care takers of the funeral homes because of the legacy before them.  For 125 years, many generations of funeral directors have served our community and he is proud to be a part of the tradition.

In commemoration of the anniversary, Governor Eric Holcomb made a special visit to the funeral home to congratulate Evan, his family, and the community as a whole, for their continued service.  As a Navy veteran and a student of history, the Governor paid special attention to the facility and old photographs of the funeral home.  The funeral home has been renovated and expanded many times throughout the years and is evident in the photographs shared, starting out with a horse drawn hearse and no electricity, to our modern fleet of automobiles and the latest technology.  Evan states that many things in and around the funeral home have changed, but our commitment to the families we serve will never waiver.

In addition to the visit and history shared by Evan and his family regarding the funeral home, the Governor extended a heart felt thank you for the efforts they have made in response to the Covid 19 pandemic.  The Governor made special mention of the hand sanitizing stations and masks offered to the community upon entry to the funeral home.
