“Things to Consider”

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

After attending a lengthy meeting with the executive director of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association and respected leaders within the funeral home the following are temporary “Thing to Consider”.

Since we served our first family in 1895 exactly 125 years ago, we have seen and overcome many challenging times such as the great depression and many wars.  Our funeral home has withstood the test of time and will continue to serve families now and far into the future.

Our funeral home has been elevated officially to the status of “Critical Infrastructure Workers” in the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).  This will allow us to remain available to serve our community.

Governor Eric Holcomb has issued Beginning 11:59 pm, Tuesday, March 24, 2020 thru minimally 11:59 pm on Monday, April 6, 2020 all funeral events of any kind are to be limited to no more than 10 people in assembly at any one time in location with all social distancing requirements in observance.

I understand more than most that these temporary regulations can be frustrating when planning a celebration of a life well lived.  My father, Greg W. Thayer passed unexpectedly at age 69 Monday, March 23, 2020 and we as a family are following these temporary changes.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families we serve and our nation.

Sincerely, Evan G. Thayer
