JERALD ELMER ADAMS
Rockport, IN – Jerald Elmer Adams, 78, of Rockport, Indiana went to be with the Lord and loved ones on Wednesday, July 21, 2010.
Jerald was born on August 12, 1931 in Spencer County Indiana to the late Henry Elmer and Mary Virginia (Bowman) Adams.
He was an honorably discharged Army veteran of the Korean War and received the Purple Heart and several other commendations. He worked at Whirlpool, ALCOA, and the State Highway Department. He was a life time member of the American Legion. Jerald enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, walking his dogs, watching NASCAR and just driving around town.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Terri “Adams” Boyer.
Jerald is survived by his wife Sally “Hagan” Adams; Daughters, Rhonda Stewart and her husband Michael of Santa Claus, IN; Melinda Duvall of Grandview, IN; Sons, Jerald Adams of Huntingburg, IN; Larry Adams of Kentucky; Brother, Wandel “Buddy” Adams of Rockport, IN; Sister, Judy Greene of Rockport, IN; 10 Grandkids; 25 Great-grandkids; Step-children, Bobby Hagan, Ronda Wargel, Daryl Hagan, Jimmy Hagan, DeAnn Waninger, and Lisa Pickerill.
Services are 2 P.M. Saturday, July 24, 2010 at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Indiana with Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Burial is in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport, Indiana. The Rockport American Legion Post 254 will conduct Military Honors.
Visitation is from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. Friday, July 23, 2010 and from 8 A.M. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Rockport American Legion Post 254.
