NEDRA A. GROVES
Rockport, IN – Nedra A. Groves, 72, of Rockport, Indiana passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010 at the Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Nedra was born in Cannelton, Indiana on June 14, 1938 to the late Archie and Melvina (Bolen) Gaynor.
She was the Mayor of the City of Rockport. Nedra served as the Spencer County Clerk and was the former Republican County Chairman. She was very active in Politics. Nedra was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Susie Zabel, Jack, Joe, Pat, and David Gaynor.
Nedra is survived by her children, Valerie Elliott and her husband Scot of Santa Claus, IN; Ginger Harmon of Rockport, IN; Grandchildren, Gretchen Winkler, Ryan Bunner, Justin Harmon; Great-grandchild, Olivia Dimmett; Brothers, Ronnie Gaynor of Louisville, KY; Larry Gaynor of Madisonville, KY; Steve Gaynor of Owensboro, KY; Kevin Gaynor of Cloverport, KY; Michael Gaynor of Tell City, IN; Several nieces and nephews.
Services are 11 A.M. Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Rockport, Indiana with Pastor Richard Miller officiating. Burial is in New Cliff Cemetery in Cannelton, Indiana.
Visitation is from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. Wednesday, July 14, 2010 and from 8 A.M. until 10 A.M. Thursday at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Indiana.
