Obituary for Junior Lee Willis

ROCKPORT, IN. – Junior Lee Willis, 90, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.
He was born August 5, 1927 to the late Nathaniel Jenkins Willis and Sara Eva (Carter) Willis in Spencer County, Indiana.

Junior retired from Alcoa after many years in 1989. He was a United States Army Veteran who served in WWII. He loved to go for walks with his beloved dog, Oskar, NASCAR, IU college basketball, and watching Women’s basketball.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patsy Ruth (Lester) Willis in 1998; brothers, Gene, Russel, Robert “Jack”, Gurly, and Shirley Willis; sisters, Mary and Lucille.

Junior is survived by a son, Danny E. Willis of Rockport, Indiana; daughter, Sherry Pogue of Owensboro, Kentucky; grandson, Joseph M. Pogue Jr. and his wife Dottie of Hartford, Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Trevor Joseph and Dessa Rose Pogue of Hartford, Kentucky.

Services will be Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Indiana with Pastor Carl Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from Noon until time of service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
