Obituary for Bernice Robeson

Bernice (Lamkin) Harris Robeson, 92, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Rockport. Bernice was born May 17, 1926 in Perry County, Indiana to the late Henry and Christina (Cassidy) Lamkin.
Bernice is survived by her son, James Harris and his wife, Judith, of Grandview; grandson, Fr. Jason Harris of Bardstown, KY and granddaughter, Jillian Harris of Louisville, KY; as well as stepchildren, Eric (Toni) Robeson of Evansville, IN, Patti (Gary) Pepper of Kernsville, NC and Bart (Yvonne) Robeson, of Haywood CA. Also surviving, nieces, Pat Williams, Joyce Buxton, Mary Alice McGhee, and nephew, Ken Stephens.
She had worked at Commercial Filters and Tyler’s Restaurant and was a homemaker.
She was a long time member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.
Bernice is preceded in death by her first husband, of 33 years, Henry A. “Doc” Harris in 1979; her second husband, of 22 years, Dewey E. “Red” Robeson in 2016; brother, Edwin Lamkin; sister, Anna Mae Stephens; sister and niece Hazel Greulich.
Funeral service will be 10:00am Monday, August, 13 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Rockport, IN. Visitation will be 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Sunday, August 12 at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport with a prayer service at 7:00pm, and from 8:00am until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Grandview Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Spencer County Hospice and/or Miller’s Merry Manor.
